Distribution Grid Modeling Using Smart Meter Data

نویسندگان

چکیده

The knowledge of distribution grid models, including topologies and line impedances, is essential for monitoring, control protection. However, such information often unavailable, incomplete or outdated. increasing deployment smart meters (SMs) provides a unique opportunity to tackle this issue. This paper proposes two-stage framework modeling using SM data. In the first stage, network topology identified by reconstructing weighted Laplacian matrix networks. second least absolute deviations (LAD) regression model developed estimating impedance single branch based on nonlinear (inverse) power flow model, wherein conductor library leveraged narrow down solution space. LAD originally mixed-integer program whose continuous relaxation still non-convex. Thus, we specially address its convex discuss exactness. modified then embedded within bottom-up sweep algorithm achieve identification across in branch-wise manner. Numerical results IEEE 13-bus, 37-bus 69-bus test feeders validate effectiveness proposed methods.

modeling loss data by phase-type distribution

Enhancing Observability in Distribution Grids using Smart Meter Data

Due to limited metering infrastructure, distribution grids are currently challenged by observability issues. On the other hand, smart meter data, including local voltage magnitudes and power injections, are communicated to the utility operator from grid buses with renewable generation and demand-response programs. This work employs grid data from metered buses towards inferring the underlying g...

Impact of Three-phase Pseudo-measurement Generation from Smart Meter Data on Distribution Grid State Estimation

This paper addresses the modelling of unknown power values, so-called pseudo-measurements, for the use in distribution grid state estimation. Historical load data from smart metering devices in private households and photovoltaic systems is analysed regarding phase distribution, reactive power and correlation between different generators. Based on this, methods for pseudomeasurement generation ...

Streamlining Smart Meter Data Analytics

Today smart meters are increasingly used in worldwide. Smart meters are the advanced meters capable of measuring customer energy consumption at a fine-grained time interval, e.g., every 15 minutes. The data are very sizable, and might be from different sources, along with the other social-economic metrics such as the geographic information of meters, the information about users and their proper...

Benchmarking Smart Meter Data Analytics

Smart electricity meters have been replacing conventional meters worldwide, enabling automated collection of fine-grained (every 15 minutes or hourly) consumption data. A variety of smart meter analytics algorithms and applications have been proposed, mainly in the smart grid literature, but the focus thus far has been on what can be done with the data rather than how to do it efficiently. In t...
